Interpreting And Translation

Please let reception know in advance if you require help, so that we can arrange this service for your appointment.

Smoking And Mobile Telephones

It is illegal to smoke in the building or in the grounds of this building. Please turn off all mobile phones before entering the building.

Are You A Carer?

If you care for someone who is disabled, has a learning difficulty, a chronic or terminal illness, mental health problems or is elderly and you would like to be registered as a carer, complete the form available from reception and return it to us. Information will be recorded on your medical record so that your GP will know you are a carer. You may also be able to receive an annual ’flu vaccination free of charge.

Non-NHS Examinations

If you require additional services from the doctor (for example medical insurance forms such as PPP/BUPA; medical examinations for insurance companies; driver medicals and letters) then a charge will be made. Non-NHS work is undertaken at the doctor’s discretion.

As doctors are not paid by the NHS for this work, the charge goes towards the running costs of the practice and compensating the doctor for his or her professional time. These fees are agreed and set by the partners and reviewed annually. The receptionists have no authority to waive or vary these charges.

Payment must be made in advance, or at the time of the service being provided. Letters or forms will not be handed or sent out until payment has been received. Payment may be made in cash or by cheque backed up by a guarantee card.

Failure to attend, or late arrival for an appointment for private treatment, may result in a 50% charge of the fee.

Our fees are displayed in the reception area.

Private consultations are also available for patients not eligible for NHS treatment (for example those who are not resident in the UK) which are charged at the current rate.

Self Help

Self Help means recognising minor illnesses and being able to treat the symptoms, preventing health problems developing and knowing when to call for outside medical help. Self help doesn’t mean dealing with the health problems on your own. The surgery team are there to help with any problems or situations you can’t cope with. The pharmacist can also give advice on treating minor illnesses.
